Learning to knit
I've been crocheting since I was 9. And I love it, I think it's so easy. A couple years ago I thought I'd teach myself how to knit and it just didn't work out. I got pretty frustrated so I decided that crocheting was easier. About a month ago I started looking for a cute shawl pattern. I quickly started to figure out that all of the shawls I really liked were knitted. Upon the advice from a couple of friends who knit, I went to youtube and watched some videos. I quickly decided that I could knit. so I pulled out my needles and gave it a shot. After a couple of tries I was able to successfully cast on the beginning of a practice shawl. The more I started watching other videos and thinking of other great projects I could do, I decided that I'd order some more knitting needles off of my favorite knitting/crocheting supply website. So now I'm just waiting for my new needles to get here because I'm going to try my hand at knitting a pair of longies for the new baby. (Longies are just wool knit pants, usually used as a diaper cover for cloth diapers.) I can't wait for my new needles to get here so I can start practicing!

Family Pics
My friend-and fellow 31 Gifts consultant-Katie Harrington does photography on the side, so we met her at Hickory Grove park yesterday afternoon to get some family pictures taken. I cannot wait to see how they turn out! I think she was able to get some really great shots, and the boys did pretty well for the most part. I can't wait to share the results! :)

I was right!!!
HA!! I was right! I quit taking my thyroid meds 5 weeks ago, first because I forgot for 2 weeks and then I just kept not taking it because I was feeling fine and was losing weight. I just talked to the lab at my OB's office and they told me that my thyroid function is NORMAL. The registered NP I saw Tuesday tried to tell me that my levels would be way off and to start taking my meds right away. Why is it that I'm not trusted to know my own body? I told her that I normally lose weight when I'm pregnant, not gain. And that it wasn't until AFTER I had Andrew that my hypothyroidism was diagnosed, and before I'd gotten pregnant with my oldest son my thyroid had been fine. But she didn't believe me. I also told her I wasn't having any of the signs that my thyroid wasn't working, for one I've lost 11 lbs which you don't lose weight if your thyroid isn't working.
I know that I'm not qualified to make a diagnosis of anything for myself, but why couldn't the NP at least have said, "Oh, it's not uncommon for women to start having thyroid problems after being pregnant. So we'll check your TSH levels today and again in four weeks and see where your at." Even our regular family doctor told me that it is totally common for women to start having thyroid issues after being pregnant. I do know my own body, and I knew before they did the bloodwork that my thyroid function would come back as normal.

The simple things
What the boys have been up to...Pt. 2
Splashing in the tub!

Andrew getting ready to go in to get his ears cleaned.
We've been busy lately. With Josh busy in the field, the boys are stuck with mom all of the time. And that also means that mom is stuck with the boys all the time so I haven't gotten much of an opportunity to go do my normal errands. My grocery runs have been quick and to the point. Which with my food aversions and nausea, grocery shopping has been my least favorite thing to do. I watched the Dunblazier boys a couple of days and of course my boys were so thrilled to have their friends to play with.
What the boys have been up to...
Baby J

I had my first OB appointment yesterday and we got our first sneak peak at the baby. We don't know yet what we're having but because I'm hopeful I'm just going to refer to the baby as "she." Today I asked the boys what they wanted, a baby brother or a baby sister, and they both replied baby sister. So I'm hoping they get what they want lol! :) Anyways, she measured perfectly at 10 weeks and I was 10 weeks and 1 day yesterday so you can't get much better than that. Her heart rate was 167 which is great. We won't get a look at her again until around 20 weeks which is when they do the big anatomy scan to measure everything and make sure baby is developing perfectly.
The other good news is that my morning sickness, food aversions, and nausea seem to have subsided-hopefully for good. I've actually been able to eat again, so I've been thankful for that. No other new updates for now, but I will definitely keep everyone posted!

Not enough time...
There just doesn't seem to be enough time in a day to do everything I need and want to do. I'm still "napping" in the mornings after the boys get up, thankfully they are pretty good about not opening the gates and going all over the house. :) Lunch rolls around and I think about all of the things I should do during nap. Then nap time comes and I think, oh I'll just relax and watch some of my DVR'd shows that I missed during the week. I usually end up taking another little nap-pathetic I know-and then the boys wake up. I have actually been doing pretty well the last couple weeks keeping up on laundry, dishes are another story. I usually try to do a load of dishes every day, however lately it's been more like every other day. Which means my sink hasn't been empty for weeks. But we haven't run out of dishes so I haven't done too bad lol!
And as impossible as it seems, I'm already wearing maternity clothes. I didn't have any bloating with the boys but for some reason with this pregnancy I'm really bloated and can't fit into my regular jeans. Some pregnant women swear by the bella band or be band things to help keep your regular jeans up. I bought one with Evan and wore it about twice before I realized that they are a huge pain in the butt. I'd rather just wear maternity pants! I decided if a stranger at the store asks me how far along I am I'm going to lie and say like 4-5 months so I don't feel so bad about looking so pregnant at only 8.5 weeks. But according to other experienced moms, once you've had 2 kids your pregnancies do show earlier.
The boys have already gone out to the field twice to ride in the combine with Grampy, I have a couple of pictures I'll have to post later. They of course loved every minute of it and wanted to go ride all day...if only they could! :)
