Well, dad is doing great! Due to the hardware that is in his leg, they don't want him putting any pressure or weight on that leg right now. But he can still get around pretty darn well. He's got a walker that is taller than the average walker. He can't use crutches due to his left wrist, so the walker and/or a wheel chair is his only way to get around right now. He has lost a little weight due to just in general not being that hungry. He's been enjoying being at home. And a speech therapist and physical therapist are coming to the house every week to work with him. The speech therapist is working with him on cognitive and memory exercises since he's kind of had a bit of a short attention span since the accident. Otherwise things are going pretty darn well. He still naps during the day but not nearly as much as he was in the first week after his surgery. But he needs the rest, since his body has so much healing to do!
The boys don't quite understand that when we go to visit Grandpa we don't go over there to play in the yard, feed the fish, and ride bikes in the driveway. So we try to keep our visits on the shorter side. Although I think dad likes to watch them run around like maniacs. I know he's getting a little bored, so our visits probably keep him pretty darn entertained lol!
